(More customer reviews)Not many reviews out for the S type subs so I figure id add my thoughts. I have the SWS-1223D installed in a sealed box and powered by the MRP M500. This setup will thump and gets pretty low. If you are looking to be heard down the street you should probably go with something that handles a bit more power and a ported enclosure. If your looking for good clean bass to add bottom to your system this is it. I can crank it up and get nasty looks from the drivers next to me, but at higher volumes the low notes tend to get muddy and lack punchy separation. If your head unit does not have a sub control or you don't have some sort of EQ I would highly recommend adding a remote level control. You may want to tweak the level on the fly since this thing has range that can go from providing just a little low end to adding some real boom. You cant get full control of it just using the bass knob on the average head unit.
4 stars for value and versatility and value. There are better subs out there but most are way more expensive or require much more power.
