In fact, I agonized for six months over which speakers to buy for my family room, whether to cut holes in the ceiling, mount speakers on the wall with brackets, etc.Numerous visits to Circuit City and Best Buy had me discouraged.The speakers they offered looked nice, but they didn't sound as good as the $30 bookshelf speakers right on the next shelf over, and cost about eight times as much.I finally took a gamble with these AudioSource speakers (had never even heard of the brand before), given the price, size and wattage.
I am very pleased with the sound. I am not a sound engineer, but I do consider myself an audiophile and appreciate good sound - good lows AND highs without either overpowering the other. These speakers deliver that balance.
The directions were easy to follow and with a little help, I had them installed in about 2 hours, including prep time, running cable, clean-up, etc.
The description on these speakers don't do them justice.They sound better than the Polk, Infinity, JBL speakers I tested at Circuit City and Best Buy, which were in the $200+ price range.
I highly recommend them.
